Duluth, GA – June 15, 2022 – ClassWorks, a top-class MTSS solution provider, and Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), the 13th largest school district in the country, 1EdTech ™ consortium, has been recognized by the world’s leading nonprofit organization with the 2022 Platinum Medal Learning Impact Award. .
Institutional leaders and public voters honor the innovative projects selected from the 34 finalists that successfully impact and enhance the learning experience. The Platinum Award-winning project features a partnership between Classworks and Gwinnett County to deliver a successful online summer education program powered by 1EdTech’s Competency and Academic Standards Exchange® (CASE®) framework.
The project has reduced reading loss due to covid and effectively prepared students for the 2021-2022 school year. GCPS Classworks has decided to launch a district-wide, online Summer Enrichment and Acceleration (SEA) program using evidence-based instructional programs. GCPS uses district-specific academic knowledge and skills (AKS) standards in reading, language arts and mathematics as part of its curriculum. For summer education programs, classwork needs to align its quality-based learning progress with GCPS AKS.
“As a district with our unique curriculum standards, the CASE Framework allows our partners to more easily align content and resources with our standards so that teachers and students have the right resources to match their educational needs,” said Tricia Kennedy, Executive Director of Georgia Gwinnett County. Instructional development and support for public schools. “Our partnership with ClassWorks creates a customized summer school curriculum with the help of CASE to address district-defined target values in a learning path for understanding.”
The CASE Framework systems simplify the process of managing learning quality information, making it easier for districts to provide quality-based learning experiences. Using CASE, classwork instructions were quickly aligned with GCPS-specific AKS, saving manual work time. The effort ensures that students have access to summer lessons that both review focus values from the previous year and prepare them for next year in the advancement of a research-based learning.
“Replacing a manual and labor-intensive mapping project that typically takes several weeks with a CASE-driven process, ClassWorks has provided a high-quality, quality-based learning experience to more than 180,000 students at Gwinnett County Public Schools in just a few days. Jerry Henley, Senior Vice President of Product Experience for Classworks, explains, “Classworks embraces 1EdTech’s philosophy on interoperability, and we’re proud to partner with a forward-thinking and innovative district like GCPS. -Student online intervention solution. “
