Learning requires joy and civility

This week’s special edition of Education Innovation, hosted by Kevin Hogan, comes straight from one of the largest edtech conferences in the country. At least 15,000 academics and edtech enthusiasts gathered in New Orleans for ISTELive 22.

ISTE CEO Richard Kulata noted that we have “lost the joy of learning” in recent years. Now is the time to inspire educators and students. Along with inspiration comes the idea of civility, generosity and understanding in education.

“It’s okay to disagree. You have to agree; You learn how to do it, but we have to do it in a way that is kind and polite, and you have to model it for the kids, ”Kulata said.

In this special edition:

  • Reviewing teaching and learning
  • Adopting modeling technology
  • Game-changing creative technology
  • Real-world SEL implementation
  • How to Respect Your World’s Hero Educators
