Pivot Interactives has announced new Iris technology to keep students active

(May 12, 2022) – Pivot Interactives has introduced a new tool, Iris,, which teaches critical concepts of science – such as heat transfer, beer law, light emission, population density, temperature (infrared and blackbody), pH and wavelength – accessible to students. Classroom equipment or teaching experience. With this new patented-pending collection of color and light measurement tools, students can now measure color and light quantities for themselves directly from data encoded in a video in a web browser.

“Measuring using light is a fundamental science practice. From optical measurements made by microbiologists to light, light and color-based measurements collected by powerful telescopes, science is at the heart of every scale,” said Peter Bohasek, CEO and founder of Pivot Interactives. “But light- and color-based measurements are usually limited to expensive and complex equipment, beyond the reach of the classroom. Pivot Interactives brings students the power of light- and color-based measurement at the fingertips. As a leader in using interactive video for science education, we are thrilled to be the first to provide the power of light- and color-based measurement everywhere in the classroom. “

Iris Technology solves three complex problems facing science classrooms:

থাকা Having the tools, time and skills to analyze scientific data, such as quantitative color and light measurement.

বাস্তব Uses real-world facts to define problems, create models, plan investigations, analyze data, and interpret and communicate information described in NGSS.

করা Involve students in facts and science practice throughout the learning cycle, starting with an introduction through assessment.

Ceres Katharon, chair of the science department at Georgetown Middle / High School in Massachusetts, commented on Pivot Interactives’ new Iris tool: Through the grade level, students can use the same events to build continuous knowledge and skills. I am excited to be able to use this to empower teachers in our district to use more facts and science practices in content areas and parts of instructional cycles where they were previously limited by time or equipment. “

Teachers can access Iris tools through the Pivot Interactive License, which integrates with a number of education management systems, including Canvas, Blackboard Learn and D2L Brightspace. Pivot Interactives has acquired the IMS Global Learning Tools Interoperability® (LTI) জন্য certification and the IMS TrustEd app for data privacy. Academics can find teachers and district prices here. They can try an activity for free using new iris technology here and see a growing library of activities using new iris technology here.

About Pivot Interactives
Pivot Interactives, Inc. Develops and develops dynamic tools to engage students actively in the investigation of scientific facts as they develop their skills in science practice. Pivot Interactives was founded by Peter Bohasek, CEO of Pivot and physics teacher, and Matthew Vunk, Pivot’s chief science officer and professor of physics, with a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to create a library of partially interactive video-based activities. The co-founders began work in 2012 to create live measurement videos with their own students, allowing teachers and students to break free from the confines of the classroom. Now, teachers worldwide are using Pivot Interactive to engage more than 1 million students in events and science practices. Pivot Interactives, an award-winning platform, continues to innovate to revolutionize science education because science has the power to change lives.
