The new partnership provides Texas educators with easy access to critical data

Portland, Ore., June 7, 2022 – NWEA – serving non-profit, research and educational service providers K-12 students – announced a new partnership today in collaboration with the Region 7 Education Service Center (ESC 7) to provide better services in the districts. As part of this initiative, MAP Growth Data will be seamlessly transferred to DMAC, which will enhance this valuable tool used by Texas educators to provide instant access to student data that supports instruction and student achievement.

The partnership was created through discussion around the need for a screener, used to determine which students could struggle on a specific topic in their more than 100 district and charter agencies. MAP was selected in part because of its reliability and validity of Growth (an interim assessment that can measure academic growth and predict performance in the annual STAAR State Assessment). The rich data provided by MAP Growth allows districts to streamline their assessment programs, saving valuable time for guidance. Currently, this new integration is available for all ESC 7 districts that use NWEA MAP Growth Assessment.

“We are excited to have MAP Growth available for ESC 7 districts. Our partnership will provide timely access to reliable data, ”said Raquel Hammons, Senior Accounts Executive at NWEA Service Provider Zone 7. “We know that when educators base their decisions on high quality data and apply them faithfully, there will be better results for students.”

The new partnership between NWEA and ESC 7 includes professional education opportunities for educators across the region. “Our ESCs provide services in many small and rural districts, and we are excited to work with NWEA to support our unique needs,” said Stacey Morris, Director – Center for Effective Schools at Region 7. , Cooperation has a significant impact as a positive factor in recovery efforts for both ESC 7 and larger districts. “
